Physical Education

All students have core PE on their timetable from S1 – S4; from S4, National Qualifications in PE focus on developing and improving practical and performance skills in physical activities. These courses provide opportunities to develop team building skills and enhance learners' abilities to compete, co-operate and collaborate.

As part of the Health and Wellbeing faculty we aim to help pupils appreciate the benefits of regular enjoyable exercise for personal wellbeing and to develop the basic skills that will encourage them to enjoy lifelong participation in physical activity.

Dress Code

Pupils are expected to bring a full change of clothing for their PE lessons; this includes top, bottoms, socks and trainers. A clean kit may be borrowed from the Dept. should pupils forget to bring one.

Participation

Pupils are expected to participate in all of their PE lessons. Should someone be excused physical activity because of injury or illness they can, and will, still be very much part of the lesson – scoring, time or record keeping, evaluating and analysing, for example. Therefore kit should still be brought and students will take part.
