High School Clans

LOCHGILPHEAD HIGH SCHOOL CLANS

Our Clans are named after Scottish mountains - Alder, Lomond and Nevis. The choice of mountains as Clan symbols provides a powerful metaphor for our values of ambition and achievement and the names were chosen by our pupils who took part in an online consultation.  Strengthening the Clan ethos and identity can only improve the experience of our pupils, creating a greater sense of equity, inclusion and social justice. We redesigned Clan boards for our Campus foyer and are really proud of them;  have a look next time you're here.

The pupils are excited about building a Clan identity and we have Clan Captains assigned as part of our Student Leadership Team. The Pupil Voice group is made up of pupils across all three Clans and all stages as they work together on aspects of our School Improvement Plan.

A key feature of the Clan system at Lochgilphead High School has always been our Clan Matches and these will continue as we go through the year.  Keep an eye out for results!
