Lunch at Lochgilphead Joint Campus

Cashless Catering

The cafeteria operates on a 'cashless' system. Every pupil receives a Young Scot Card at the start of first and fourth year. This is similar to a credit card. It can be 'topped up' with money regularly and is presented at the cafeteria instead of cash. Whatever the pupil buys in the cafeteria is deducted from the balance held on the card. 'Top-up' machines are located in the school foyer. Parents may send cheques to school to cover a week or more of meals at a time or make an online payment via the Argyll and Bute Council website. Limits can be placed on how much can be spent daily.

The Young Scot Card entitles the pupil to discounts in shops, Citylink coaches, and a range of other service providers. It also acts as a 'proof of age' card. If a pupil forgets his/her Young Scot Card on any day, a temporary replacement card can be issued if he/she goes to the school office at the start of the day. Lost or damaged Young Scot Cards can be replaced at a cost of £2.50.

Parents

You can credit your child's Young Scot account by clicking the link below and following the online instructions. You will need the unique ID reference that is issued to all pupils when they first apply for a Young Scot Card. If you have lost this reference, the school canteen can help in issuing a new one.
