Education is not something that happens to pupils; we believe pupils learn and achieve best when they are active participants in all aspects of their learning and school experience.
Support is something we all need from time to time. We all need help with different things - it may be with learning something new, with peer relationships, with making decisions about the future. The aim of our Pupil Support faculty is to help pupils overcome barriers that may be getting in their way as they move through school.
In LHS Pupil Support is based around our Clan system where pupils are supported by Guidance teachers who stay with them for the duration of their time with us. Please see our Clan page for information on Clans and how to contact Guidance teachers who are a family's first port of call should they need to share anything with us. There is a Depute Head Teacher with overall responsibility for Pupil Support (Mrs Donald) and a Principal Teacher of Learning Support (Ms Drummond).
In class, small group and individual support is also provided by a Pupil Support Teachers allocated to us by the Central Team and Additional Support Assistants.
