Skills for Work

Through our partnership with Argyll College, we have been able to expand what we are able to offer our pupils from S3 – S6.  Please note all Argyll College courses are dependent on numbers.  The entrance criteria for these courses vary depending upon the course applied for but  an application form for Argyll College are required for all courses. Please note some courses are delivered face to face and some networked and delivered online.

Through this partnership we are also able to offer Foundation Apprenticeships to our pupils in S5/6. Foundation Apprenticeships are a work-based learning opportunity for senior-phase secondary school pupils.  Lasting one/two years, young people spend time out of school at college or with a local employer, and complete the Foundation Apprenticeship alongside their other subjects like National 5s and Highers.

Pupils benefit by being better prepared for the world of work and boosting their employability, by achieving industry recognised vocational qualifications and ensuring that they leave school with a positive and sustained destination, be it a job or further education.

More information  on Foundation Apprenticeships can also be found on https://dywargyll.com/foundation-apprenticeships/

We offer Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services Children and Yound People through Argyll and Bute Council.
