Renewable Parts Ltd

Recently we were asked by Renewable Parts Ltd to design a sign from old wind turbine parts to be displayed in their new workshop in the new Industrial estate just outside Lochgilphead. Seven students in total took part in the project: at some point in the process- Struan Urquhart, Dillon Brown, Zander MacDonald, Tony Rice, George Curran, Euan McCartan and Declan Cooper. They, along with our Technical department, looked at the resources available and came up with a design for the sign. The boys then worked in pairs with our Technician Billy Bergant  to create the sign.  Renewable Parts Ltd launched their new workshop on Friday the 10th of September, Mrs McBride and Mr Bergant attended on behalf of the school and got a tour of the new facility along with Industry specialists. The boys who were involved in making the sign got to visit on the 15th and 22nd of September to see how their sign looked in place. There were lots of lovely comments on the opening day about the sign and everyone was very impressed with what our pupils had created. We have now been asked by another organisation to create a recycled sign for them so watch this space.
